Golden Eagle District
Golden Eagle District proudly serving the cities of Pomona, Walnut, Diamond Bar, Rowland Heights, Valinda, City of Industry, Hacienda Heights, West Covina, and La Puente. The Golden Eagle District is located in the southeastern region of San Gabriel Valley.
In 1939 the San Gabriel Valley Council was divided into districts, and the area was known as the Rancho District (named for Rancho La Puente) which changed many times over the years. Previous names were Lucky Baldwin in 1950, Lucky Trails in 1961, Los Conquistadors in 1969, Chaparral in 1970, Conquistadors in 1971, and Mountain View in 1982. The Mountain View District, the largest in the council, was divided at the San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) in 1984, and the territory south of the freeway became known as the Golden Eagle District.
In 2006, the Scouting communities of Diamond Bar, Walnut, and Pomona, from the former Old Baldy Council, were added to the Golden Eagle District.
