Log Cabin Wilderness Camp

The Log Cabin Wilderness Camp with the Clem C. Glass Memorial Eagles Nest is situated at an elevation of 10,000 feet above sea level in the Inyo National Forest. ? This is the base camp for the Greater Los Angeles Area Council High Adventure Summer Program.

The camp is located 320 miles from Los Angeles on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Nevada bordering the Hoover Wilderness and Yosemite National Park. ? Log Cabin is your Gateway to the Sierras and provides the ultimate in High Adventure through our High Country Gateway and Sierra Nevada Mountain Man Programs.

John Muir walked these very mountains on the Eastern side of Yosemite National Park and looked down 4000 feet below and called the Sierra Nevada's, "The Range of Light." Experience the same wonder of camping at 10,000 feet in elevation at the highest Scout Camp in America!

2017 Season at Log Cabin

Log Cabin will be on hiatus during the 2017 camping season.  The purpose of this hiatus is to work on having the road repaired and developing a sustainable marketing plan. These endeavors are being worked out with communication to the Forest Service and the GLAAC committees concerned.   Both items must be created and accepted by the Council for them to recommend the opening of the camp again. We are working hard to meet these goals and are open to anyone that may be able to help in the cause. Thank you for your continued interest in Log Cabin. We look forward to serving your camping needs.
